The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of an addition of dried chicory root to the restrictive feed ration of growing rabbits on growth, health status, carcass and ceacal traits. One hundred eighty Hyplus rabbits weaned at the age of 28 days were allocated to three groups according to the feeding regime (AL – ad libitum, R – restriction, RC – restriction + chicory root). Another 30 Hyplus rabbits were used for ceacal traits evaluation at the age of 49 days. It was found that addition of dried chicory root to the restrictive feed ration of growing rabbits reduced undesirable impact of restriction on final live weight and dressing-out percentage.
