Abstract

The objective of this article was to describe the wildlife ranching and game meat production and processing in Namibia. The wildlife ranching industry in this very dry country is a dynamically developing sector of livestock that significantly contributes to food production, job creation, conservation of herbivores and overall biodiversity in sparsely populated country. Namibia’s meat industry faces challenges in developing meat processing for the possibility of exporting products to many countries around the world.
