Production and economic figures for 2013 are evaluated in 71 dairy farms. Average costs amounted to approximately 66 400 CZK per cow and year and 8.74 CZK per liter of milk; sales of milk then 65 590 CZK per cow and CZK 8.63 CZK per liter. Slight loss based on the difference in milk sales and the costs of production (about 800 CZK per cow per year and 0.11 CZK per liter of milk) in most farms were compensated by direct payments and subsidies. It is evaluated the effect of herd size and milk yield of cows on milk production indicators and compares the results of breeding cows of Czech Red and Holstein breed.
