Abstract

The quality silage should have an acidic smell; the color and the structure of silage should be as close as possible of the fresh plant. One skilled expert in the feeding of ruminants often enough the sensory organoleptic assessment of silage to know what processes were in silage and therefore what you can expect from it. Due to the elimination of extraneous odors and also because the aroma of silage can quickly lose, it is recommended not to judge silage in the barn or in the laboratory, but in the silo. To assess of color should be provided good lighting. Is also important sample should be representative.
