Abstract

In 2014, the average milk yield per cow in a group of 80 farms reached 8,113 liters, in the Czech Republic (according to Czech Statistical Office) the milk yield was 7,705 liters and in Milk Recording (for standardized lactation) was 8,370 kg of milk. It is about 217 liters and 2.7 %, 259 liters of 3.5 % and 103 kg, 1.2 % more than in 2013. Neither high milk yield (in 2013 the seventh highest in the EU-28) however itself does not provide an increase in production of raw milk in case of problems with its sales and purchase prices significantly lower than the average of EU countries. Relatively large variability in production results identified in group of dairy farms refers to potential for improving the indicators of milk production.
