Abstract

The work is focused on the analysis of the level of biosecurity as an integral part of principles of good husbandry practices on pig farms which is essential in identifying risk factors associated with the use of antimicrobials. Strict adherence to the principles of biosecurity and maintaining high hygienic standard of breeding is an important prerequisite for maintaining good health and welfare of farmed animals. This leads to a reduction in the amount of antimicrobials used and thus limits the risk of antimicrobial resistance.
