Abstract | The aim of the experiment was to examine effects of replacing soybean meal by rapeseed meal in dairy cow diets on milk production and feed intake. Thirty-six high-yielding dairy cows during the second trimester of lactation were divided into 2 groups. Both control (KON) and experimental (POK) diets were equal in forages. In concentrates for POK group soybean meal and Amino Plus® were replaced by rapeseed meal. Dry matter intake was slightly decreased in POK group (P < 0.05). Daily milk yield and content of milk constituents (protein, fat and lactose) did not differ significantly (P > 0.05) between groups. There were also no significant differences (P > 0.05) in live weight and volatile fatty acids production between KON and POK group. Overall, it is concluded that rapeseed meal may offer an economical alternative to soybean meal. |
