Abstract

The solution concerns a simple device that can determine the effect of the selected factor on the course and result of the fermentation process by silage under ideal anaerobic conditions. For the purpose of testing for silage under ideal anaerobic conditions, vacuum suction of air from preserved forage, stored in a special foil, can be used. A weighted quantity of chop is loaded into the special foil pouch and the open end of the foil is inserted into the VaxSy. When the bag is switched on, the air is exhausted and then the film is sealed. The bag is stored in a dark environment at a selected stable temperature (usually 20 or 25°C). After a minimum of 40 days of fermentation, the bag is opened and the contents are sent to the laboratory for chemical analysis.
