Abstract

The work is focused on the importance of water for the animal organism. It culminates in the importance of drinking systems sanitation in livestock. Water supplies for animals have a decisive influence on the performance and health of the animals. Physiological water needs for different species and categories of animals affect the internal factors – animals (species, category, live weight, performance, physical activity) and its health status and external factors – stable climate and technological systems of animal husbandry (housing, feeding, watering, ventilation, etc.). Regular chemical and physical cleaning and disinfection of drinking systems are prerequisite for maintaining quality and hygienic parameters of water supply for animals including operational reliability of drinkers. Cleaning is focused on the removal of contaminants and disinfection of microorganisms in the devitalisation power systems.
