International co-operation

On behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture the Institute represents the Czech Republic in the European Association for Animal Science (EAAP) and actively participates in the activities of this organization. Prof. Vera Skřivanová, in the period 2010-2013, is the member of its supreme body - the Scientific Council; Dr. Michal Milerski presently is the Secretary of the Commission of sheep and goats.
The Institute also handles requests for scholarships that EAAP provides young researchers to visit the annual conference and presentation of selected high quality papers.

National coordinator of the conservation and use of genetic resources, Ms. Vera Mátlová, is representing the Czech Republic at meetings of the FAO –UN Commission of genetic resources,   Convention on Biological Diversity, and the European Centre for Genetic Resources (ERFP).

  • FP7-KBBE-2010-4 No. 266213 "Welfare Indicators" (Development, integration and dissemination of animal-based welfare indicators in commercially important husbandry species, with special emphasis on small ruminants, equidae and turkeys, 2011-2014)

  • 7AMB13PLO28 - Expression of candidate genes involved in the development of bovine muscle and adipose tissue
  • 7AMB12SK178 - The effect of fermentative processes and aerobic stability of maize silage on the content and digestibility of neutral detergent fibre and starch

A number of international activities carried out on the basis of cooperation agreements with foreign organizations that are focused on supporting the mobility of researchers, organization of reciprocal internships and placements, training and international research programs and joint publications.
