Abstrakt

The experiment studying allosuckling in cattle demonstrated that calves frequently sucked non-maternal dams most likely compensated for some deficiency, such as low birth weight or nutritional deficiency. The allosuckling did not have a negative effect on the growth of progeny of the allonursing dams.
