Abstrakt

Selenium and zinc play an important role in pig reproduction and are associated with boar semen quality and quantity frequently. Ejaculates from sixty-seven boars from two AI centres were used in this study. In addition to seminal plasma selenium and zinc concentration the following semen quality and quantity indicators were evaluated: morphologically abnormal spermatozoa, sperm progressive motility, semen volume, sperm concentration and total number of spermatozoa per ejaculate.
