Abstrakt

The results of the experiment indicated that reproductive traits (age and weight at mating and at farrowing, the number of piglets born, piglets born alive, weaned ones, litter weight at 21 days) of Landrace gilts were affected to a great extent by theirweight gain and backfat thickness, and to a lesser extent by their meatiness. A greater effect of higher growth ability on the reproductive traits compared to the mating period was detected in the performance test. On the contrary at the period of matingthe reproductive traits were affected rather by backfat thickness and meatiness.
