Abstrakt

Commonly, the embryo transfer in pigs normally requires surgical intervention. In connection with the development of the non-surgical techniques, it is important to know whether the site of embryo placement influences the success rate of the transfer. The aim of the experiment was to compare two methods of non-surgical embryo transfer. In the first method the embryos were placed into the uterine body, in the second method the embryos were placed approximately into the middle of uterine horn. Non significant differences were detected. The second objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of number of transferred embryos on number of born piglets. Recipients were divided into 3 groups according to number of transferred embryos (5?15, 16-25 and 26and more embryos). Any significant differences were not detected as well.
