Successful presentation of the Institute of Animal Science at the agricultural exhibition Země živitelka

In August 2021, the Institute of Animal Science presented itself very successfully at the largest, most visited and most important agricultural exhibition focusing on the agricultural sector across all its fields in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Země živitelka (Nourishing Land) in České Budějovice. The prototype “Mobile collecting, sorting, weighing and fixation facility for animals“  won the Golden Ear prize in the „Livestock Production“ category.


In February 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture announced two competitions to recognise outstanding research and development results – the Agriculture Minister´s Award for Young Scientists, which aims to support and reward the research activities of scientists up to 35 years of age, and the Agriculture Minister´s Award for the best realised result of research and experimental development. The Agriculture Minister´s prizes are awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture along with the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The second place winner is Klára Laloučková, Ph.D., from the Animal Science Institute, for her peer-reviewed article „In vitro antagonistic inhibitory effects of palm seed crude oils and their main constituent, lauric acid, with oxacillin in Staphylococcus aureus“.

The third place has gone to associate professor Zdeněk Volek, Ph.D., from the Institute of Animal Science, for the result of the certified methodology „The use of chicory in rabbit feeding“.

The meeting of the members of the Czech Agrarian Chamber Commodity Council for Milk and Beef took place on 26th August, 2021 at the exhibition Země Živitelka in České Budějovice. The Institute of Animal Science was represented by Jan Syrůček, Ph.D.
