The scientific team of the of the Biology of Reproduction department, lead by Jana Rychtářová, has successfully implemented artificial insemination in cattle. A heifer was born from an embryo produced by IVF (in vitro fertilization) on the farm of 1st Agricultural a.s. Chorušice. The heifer is a crossbreed, but in the future scientists plan to produce embryos of purebred cattle of the genetic resources such as Czech Red Cattle and Czech Fleckvieh in this way. Kristýna Vacková and Magdalena Zajíčková played a key role in the team’s success.
