On 13th February 2023, a public scientific debate was held at the Institute of Animal Science, opposing the periodic report on the use of institutional support for the implementation of the Long-term Conceptual Development of a Research Organisation (DKRVO) for the period 2018 – 2022.
Within the DKRVO, 15 research projects (RP) were addressed in accordance with the plan, which were focused on the objectives formulated in the Research, Development and Innovation Concept of the Ministry of Agriculture for the years 2016 – 2022.
The research projects addressed issues related to the genetic evaluation of livestock, including the use of molecular genetics techniques, biotechnology in livestock reproduction, livestock nutrition, quality and safety of livestock products, livestock ethology and welfare, livestock technology and production environment, and cattle and pig production systems. Attention was also paid to economic analyses in the areas of the main commodities of livestock production. In the area of sustainable resources, the focus was on increasing the productivity of livestock while maintaining the sustainability of animal welfare and environmental impacts while ensuring sufficient healthy food for the population.
