The Institute of Animal Science won the ANIMAL TECH 2023 Gold Medal in the category Feedstuffs, Compound Feeds and Feed Additives for the exhibit “Compound feed for laying hens containing hemp and flax seed” and the Zemedelec weekly prize for the Barn Animal Finder manufactured by JoTio Tech Ltd.
The Gold Medal ANIMAL TECH 2023 in the category Feedstuffs, Compound Feeds and Feed Additives was awarded to the Animal Science Institute for the exhibit “Compound feed for laying hens containing hemp and flax seed” manufactured by Hansa C.B. Ltd. The complete feed for layers contains 4% hemp seed of non-psychotropic hemp varieties and 6% extruded linseed. Thanks to a new formulation, this feed improves the health of laying hens and egg quality.
The prize of the weekly Zemedelec was awarded to the Institute of Animal Science for the Barn Finder manufactured by JoTio Tech s.r.o. The wireless finder is used to quickly and purposefully locate a specific animal in a stall or paddock area while minimising disturbance to other animals in the area. The finder consists of control and battery modules, the interconnection is part of a leather strap. When activated by the user, the device will flash red for a set period of time. The device allows to perform several such activations throughout a single „dairy cow production period“ without having to replace or recharge the battery.
