From 23 to 27 April 2024, the 23rd Middle European Buiatrics Congress took place in Brno, bringing together veterinarians and researchers from all over Europe. The event was organized by the Czech Association for Buiatrics and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Veterinary University Brno.
Two scientists from the IAS Cattle Breeding department presented their latest results at the congress. Dr. Magdaléna Štolcová presented a poster entitled PREDICTION OF NEGATIVE ENERGY BALANCE USING MILK COMPONENTS WITH ROC ANALYSIS and Dr. Jan Syrůček had a poster on MILK FATTY ACIDS AS POTENTIAL BIOMARKERS OF NEGATIVE ENERGY BALANCE IN EARLY-LACTATION DAIRY COWS. Dr. Dana Kumprechtová from the Nutrition and Feeding of Farm Animals gave an oral presentation on MONITORING OF MILK CONDUCTIVITY AND SOMATIC CELL COUNT IN A DAIRY HERD WITH HIGH MASTITIS RISK.
