Agricultural secondary school teachers and students visited the Institute of Animal Science on Wednesday 12 June 2024 as part of their further professional education and training by the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information (ÚZEI).
The morning agenda included lectures on new findings in genetics and breeding (Eva Kašná, MS, PhD), ethology of cattle (Radka Šárová, MS, PhD), greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture (Eva Weisbauerová, MS, PhD), family pig farming (Anne Dostálová, MS) and agroecological approach in livestock farming (Radim Kotrba, MS, PhD). In the afternoon students and teachers visited the deer farm in Podlesek, where they learned not only about the deer farming, but also about the basic and applied research, which has been running there for a long time (Dr Adam Dušek, PhD).
