On Friday, September 20, 2024, the international meeting Livestock Animal Genetics and Breeding Innovations in the Czech Republic took place at the Research Institute of Animal Production, organised by the Department of Genetics and Breeding of Farm Animals the Institute of Animal Science, v.v.i. and EU-LI-PHE, European Network for Farm Animal Phenomics.
Jan Szmek MSc, a PhD student from the Department of Nutritional Physiology and Animal Product Quality, won the 1st place at the scientific conference NutriNet 2024 for his paper evaluating the influence of wheat variety and fat source on the performance and quality of eggs from laying hens.
In August 2024, the Institute of Animal Science presented itself very successfully at the largest, most visited and most important agricultural exhibition focusing on the agricultural sector across all its fields in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Země živitelka (BREAD BASKET) in České Budějovice.

Agricultural secondary school teachers and students visited the Institute of Animal Science on Wednesday 12 June 2024 as part of their further professional education and training by the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information (ÚZEI).
On June 4, 2024, a meeting of the Board of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences was held in the Blue Lounge of the House of Agricultural Education in Prague.
The popular event „Science in the Fields and Stables – The Story of Food“ trail takes place every year in June. The twelfth edition, traditionally organised by the Institute of Animal Science, along with the company Selgen, a. s. and the Czech University of Life Sciences, was held on 7 and 8 June 2024.
On 11 and 12 June 2024, the annual meeting of COST EU-LI-PHE took place at the University of Bologna, Italy. Ludmila Zavadilová, M.S., CSc. and Emil Krupa, M.S., PhD. as representatives of the Institute of Animal Science in the steering committee of the event.
On 20 April 2024, the first show jumping competition of the year took place in Stará Boleslav. Horses from the IAS Uhříněves Equestrian Club took part in the competition.
