Efficient approaches in dairy herd management
Project no. QI91A238
Category PROJEKTY NAZV / National Agency for Agricultural Research PROJECTS
Provider | MZE ČR |
Description | Current problems in dairy farming include particularly a frequent occurrence of health and fertility disorders that makes the herd reproduction more expensive and reduces the revenue from milk and breeding animal sales. The main goal of this project is to elaborate procedures for early detection and evaluation of causes of significant problems existing in dairy herds, and to develop methologies for their removal and prevention. The project implementation will be based on the evaluation of routinely collected data and parameters monitored in specific herds, and on newly developed indices that will increase the efficiency of dairy herd management evaluation. |

Methodology of management in rearing and reproduction of Holstein heifers in terms of overall profitability of dairy herd
Analyses of genetic relationships between linear type traits, fat-to-protein ratio, milk production traits, and somatic cell count in first-parity Czech Holstein cow
Associations between age at first calving, rearing average daily weight gain, herd milk yield and dairy herd production, reproduction, and profitability
Effect of prepubertal and postpubertal growth and age at first calving on production and reproduction traits during the first 3 lactations in Holstein dairy cattle
Survey of preweaning dairy calf-rearing practices in Czech dairy herds
Genetic relationship of functional longevity with female fertility and milk production traits in Czech Holsteins
Genetic parameters for female fertility and milk production traits in first-parity Czech Holstein cows
Variability and correlations between the traits of cattle
Causes of losses of calves II.
