Integrated Artificial Intelligence and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System for Optimization of the Entire Feed Production, Silage Process and Cattle Feeding Application

Project no. QL26010434
Category PROJEKTY NAZV / National Agency for Agricultural Research PROJECTS
ProviderMZE ČR
Description

The AISilageFeeding project (QL26010434) aims to develop an integrated system combining unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and artificial intelligence methods to optimise the entire forage production chain – from crop monitoring and optimal harvest timing through management of silage fermentation processes to feed ration formulation for cattle. The solution incorporates sensor networks for continuous monitoring of key silage parameters (pH, temperature, moisture), machine-learning predictive models, and a software platform for dynamic feed ration optimisation based on current silage quality and animal requirements. The project is implemented by a consortium of three partners: the Institute of Animal Science (VÚŽV, lead partner), NutriVet s.r.o. (Pohořelice) and Brno University of Technology – Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (BUT FEEC). The project runs from 2026 to 2030 under the NAZV programme Země II and is funded by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.
