The project is aiming of formulate and evaluate feed mixtures for farmed rabbits, containing socalled
circular feed. These feeds will replace the usual feed components of diets such as alfalfa meal,
barley, and oats. The diets based on the traditionally used feeds will be compared with those
containing just circular feeds in terms of growth performance, digestion, and health. The purpose is
to implement new feeding practices that will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the chain of
sustainable production of safe and nutritionally valuable products. This chain is in line with the
Green Deal, while the main thesis is bio-economy with the principles of the circular economy. The
results of the project will be used by feed manufacturers, breeders, advisors, and state
administration.
