Polyfunctional particles to reduce zinc and antibiotics in weaned piglets

Project no. QL24010214
Category PROJEKTY NAZV / National Agency for Agricultural Research PROJECTS
ProviderMZE ČR
Description

The aim of the project is to address the current need for legislative restrictions on the use of
medication doses of zinc as a means of treating / preventing diarrheal diseases in weaned piglets.
A multifunctional particle for the transport of active substances in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT)
will be developed. The particle will be designed for the gradual release of active substances in the
GIT at different pH. The project will use natural antibiotics from domestic and foreign production
(neem; thyme; garlic). The key to reducing losses in piglets is to build up immunity. The particles
will also contain promising immunomodulatory substances (curcumin, inulin). The partial goal
will be to optimize the product financially to ensure competitiveness and applicability in practice.
