Abstract

Lupin meal is not only a good source of proteins, but also contains a significant number of saccharides, including prebiotic raffinose-series oligosaccharides (RSO). The growth-stimulating effect of RSO on health-promoting bacteria has already been observed, together with the inhibition of Escherichia coli growth in the gut.
