The work is focused on the problematics of antimicrobial and antibiotic resistance, reducing the use of antibiotics and thus reducing the risk of bacterial resistance in livestock. Prudent and responsible use of antimicrobials together with adherence to the principles of good husbandry practice with an emphasis on prevention, prophylaxis and biosecurity are important prerequisites for maintaining animal and human health and at the same time maintaining the effectiveness of antibiotics.
