For modern pigs breeding a various production systems specifics for the position of given breed and crossbred composition are applied ([1], [2]). Therefore a general model is needed to consider all links of a crossing system and to take into account bi­ological, managerial, and economical differences among breeds. Main aim of the study was to summarise the bio-economical approach to model pigs‘ production systems in the program EWPIG.
