Hops contain a wide range of substances with a positive effect that can be used not only in brewing, but also in other fields. One of the possibilities is its application in zootechnical and veterinary fields as part of feed mixtures for pigs. At the Institute of Animal Science, a feed mixture with the addition of dried hops was designed for finishing pigs, especially in alternative farms with a requirement for higher added value of products. The mixture was verified in operating conditions for fattening pigs of the Přeštice Black-Pied breed, where a positive influence on the nutritional value of the produced meat was found, while simultaneously reducing the consumption of the feed mixture.
