Abstract

Milk is one of the key commodities in terms of maintaining an appropriate structure of Czech agriculture. From the data of the United Nations was in 2010 estimated global gross agricultural production to 3,282 billion USD, of which milk production to 8.9%. In 2014, a total of 23.6 million dairy cows in the EU-28 behaved approximately 77% in the EU-15 and 23% in the EU-12, of which only 1.6% in the Czech Republic. Number of cows in the years 2012-2014 in the EU stagnated and the between 2006 and 2014 in EU-27 increased sales of milk by 11.6% and in the Czech Republic about 21 million liters. Numbers of dairy cows, production and the volume of milk delivered to the Czech Republic in the past decade did not develop favorably despite significantly increased the average milk yield of cows. Two main and about the economics of milk production key indicator are costs and sales of milk. In several EU countries fluctuated in recent years, the average cost mostly between 6 to 12 CZK per liter (kg) and the highest items are the costs of feed (usually 35-50%) and labor costs (10-30%). An annual fluctuation in cost is usually lower than the prices of milk, where prices were in the Czech Republic is lower than the average in the EU-15 countries. Over the period from 2004 to January 2016, the last three year and the last year were to farmers in the EU-15 per kg of milk paid an average of CZK 0.86 (11.9%), CZK 1.10 (14.1%) and 0 99 CZK (14.6%) higher prices than in the Czech Republic.
