Abstract

Artificial insemination is a globally used biotechnological method in pig reproduction, therefore semen quality is an important indicator for successful artificial insemination of pigs. Flow cytometry has also become an important method for assessing boar semen quality. This method was used to analyze selected indicators of semen quality (membrane integrity, acrosome integrity, mitochondrial activity, oxidative stress) in insemination doses during the year.
Flow cytometry helped us to increase the ability to predict the potential fertilization ability of sperm when assessing ID quality during the year.
