Abstract

The article describe the benefits of agroforestry and silvopastoral systems in the context of the relatively new trend of grazing-based dairy cattle farming. It reviews the positive impacts on animal welfare and behavioural aspects of dairy cattle raised in such environments. To provide a comprehensive view of silvopastoral farming, the article also highlights challenges that farmers may face when adopting this system. Additionally, it includes insights from cattle farmers themselves and offers information on potential financial support through subsidies from governmental and agricultural institutions.
