Abstract

The goal of the study was to evaluate the influence of gene polymorphisms and non-genetic factors on the linear score of somatic cell count (SCS) in milk of Holstein (n=148), Czech Simmental (n=73) and crossbred (n=6) cows. The polymorphisms in genes of CSN1S1, CSN2, CSN3, LGB, DGAT1, LEP, FASN, SCD1 and AGPAT6 were genotyped, and the association analysis to SCS in cow’s milk was done. Additionally, the effect of breed, farm, year, month of year, parity and lactation stage was evaluated. Significant effect of polymorphisms in CSN2, CSN1S1 and DGAT1 genes on the SCS was found. Other polymorphisms were not significant. SCS was significan- tly influenced by the combined effect of farm and year, further by lactation stage and month of the year. Lactation parity and cow’s breed were not significant.
