Abstract | The aim of this study was to estimate genetic parameters for SEUROP carcass traits in beef cattle in Czech Republic by using multitrait animal model. The estimated heritability of carcass weight was 0,295, for fleshiness 0,187 and for fatness 0,089. There was high genetic correlation between slaughter weight and fleshiness (0,829), medial genetic correlation between slaughter weight and fatness (0,332) and very low genetic correlation between fleshiness and fatness (0,071). There was negative correlation between fleshiness and fatness (-0,430) and markedly lower heritability for fleshiness (0,077) when carcass weight was used as fixed effect in model. |
