Abstract

Breeding dairy cows belong to their importance for agricultural businesses and the whole society in most EU states and the Czech Republic among the major agrarian sector. Paper deals with the main factors that affect the economics of milk production. The most important factors can be derived from the major cost items, revenue (sold milk and animals) and economic indicators (profit, profitability). Results show that the main factors of economic success are yield, health, fertility and nutrition. Assumptions improvements in milk production include knowledge of the current economic situation, which envisages regular surveys, reporting, and analysis of production and economic indicators. In the upcoming period after the abolition of the milk quota will be for the successful production of milk except good work of breeders and political support necessary with other sectors comparable economic support, good cooperation with processors and other organizations and others.
