Magnesium and hemp seed are suitable components of mixed feeds for laying hens leading to increased egg quality, potentially negatively affected by higher performance of new genotypes of laying hens bred for longer laying duration. Supplementing mixed feeds with magnesium oxide and hemp seed will allow the manifestation of maximum genetic potential in egg production while maintaining egg shell quality and bone strength of laying hens.
