Abstract | The use of antimicrobial substances in livestock breeding in the context of therapy, metaphylaxis and prophylaxis also brings with it the risk of developing acquired resistance, but also has a negative impact on the decreasing of welfare level and the health of the animals, but of course it also potentially affects the human health. The development of acquired resistance can be reduced by strictly following the principles of good husbandry practice, including the principles of biosecurity, and by maintaining a high hygiene standard in animal housing as a basis for maintaining animal health and welfare on farms. |
