The article provides useful insights into the possibilities of using insect meal as an alternative protein source in poultry meat production and brings a new perspective on poultry nutrition in the future. Insects and insect products, e.g. in the form of insect meal, can serve as a suitable component in mixed feeds for fattening broiler chickens. However, it is good to keep in mind that higher doses of some insect meals can have an undesirable effect on the palatability of the feed or the presence of anti-nutritional substances in it and thus worsen performance indicators. Even so, the inclusion of insect meal in feed mixtures for broiler chickens has a certain potential and can contribute to the diversification of protein sources in poultry meat production.
