Abstract

This paper analyzes the factors affecting the level of milk production and reproduction in terms of body condition scores (BCS) after calving and length of calving interval of 291 second-parity Holstein cows. Cows were divided by the BCS at calving into the three groups (> 3.25 b. -1; 3 b.- 2; 400 days -1); 3.25 b. and 3 b achieved better results in reproduction than cows with BCS (difference in calving interval was 25.5 days).
