The aim of the presented study was to determine quality parameters of orchardgrass in different growing stages and compare their changes. Samples were harvested during two years from first growth of monoculture orchardgrass including growth phases from second node to middle of anthesis. Contents of crude fibre, fibre fractions and indigestible NDF increased and contents of CP, PDI, NE and organic matter digestibility decreased within the maturing. Stage before the inflorescence emergence was evaluated as the most optimal based on contents of all qualitative parameters and nutrients yield. The presented results are usable for more accurately diets composition for cattle.
