Abstract

The aim of the study was determine the effect of using the floor plates in calf hutches on selected bioclimatic parameters (air temperature and relative air humidity) at rearing calves during the milk nutrition period. The dynamics of outside, inside temperature and relative humidity of the air were recorded by digital data loggers in the living zone of calf in hourly intervals for seven months during four macroclimatic periods (hot summer – HS, moderate summer – MS, transition period – TP and moderate winter – MW). Obtained values were statistically assessed by methods of general linear model using the Statistica software. In the calf hutches with slotted plates were proved statistically significantly higher values of air temperature only during the transitional macroclimatic period. The values of relative air humidity in the calf hutches without slotted plates were statistically insignificantly higher during all monitored macroclimatic period (HS, MS, TP, MW).
