Abstract

The study compares the occurrence of mastitis and selected reproductive disorders (dystocia, retained placenta, metritis, endometritis and cystic ovary disease) in Holstein (H) and Czech Fleckvieh (C) cows. H cows had a significantly higher lactation incidence (LIR) for most of the evaluated disorders. Whereas the same level of LIR was found in clinical mastitis in primiparous C and H cows, the pluriparous C cows had lower LIR. The same parity pattern was found for dystocia, metritis and retained placenta in both breeds.
