Abstract | There is an effort to possibly use critical points of animal comfort at low-input and/or minimalistic ways of cattle housing on maintaning their production, reproduction and health, respectively. Dairy cattle herds being housed in low-input, resp. minimalistic stables use one-side or both-side open shelters predominantly. Such an example of low-input cattle stables is shelters – light, easy-to-construct, from cheap and accesible materials. The relations between animal housing in shelters and their behavior; reaction of organism to heat stress and cold stress; low-input housing and feed intake; production and BCS; ways of adaptation of free stall boxes at minimalistic way of housing; project and technical recomendation for winter and summer period are described in the paper. |
