With the inclusion of the sika deer among invasive alien species of significant impact on the EU a long-standing situation affecting several EU member states, including the Czech Republic is changing. One of the arguments for this step is the hybridization of sika deer with the native red deer. The strategy for further development in our country must be prepared by the state administration. However, how this strategy will be implemented in practice is quite another matter.
