Abstract

The paper presents a proposal for solving the problem of grain losses, resp. starch, which are caused by poor technology or poor adjustment of technology. It describes possible procedures for the evaluation of starch damage in grain and the basic methods for evaluating the quality of corn silage and the composition of TMR. It is recommended to evaluate the degree of corn grain disturbance in the cut, not only by the wet method, which is the fastest, but also by washing the faeces on sieves. The most accurate values are obtained in the laboratory by determining the grain disturbance values of the silage by the CSPS (Corn Silage Processing Score) method. It is based on the determination of the proportion of starch that passes through the 4.75 mm sieve and the total starch content in the maize silage.
