Abstract

Increasing productivity, composition and milk yield are of great economic importance for dairy industry. Goat milk is of interest because of its nutritional aspects, healthy properties, and functional food effects. Milk traits can be extensively modified by environmental factors as well as by genetic factors. The aim of this study was to investigate variation at BTN1A1, SCD and LPL locus and to investigate the effect of genetic variants of BTN1A1 (exon 4), SCD (intron 2, exon and intron 3) and LPL (signal peptide and intron 1) genes on goat milk traits in dairy White shorthaired goat kept in the Czech Republic.
