Abstract

The second part of the contribution concerns the aerobic stability of silages. It is a property of fermented fodder to maintain the same quality with air access, i.e. after opening the silage chute for as long as possible with as little loss of dry matter and organic nutrients as possible. Decisive for the assessment of aerobic stability is the course of temperatures after opening the silo. The faster the temperature increases by 2 or 3 °C, this makes the silage less stable. The interpretation of the measured values is very important, which depends on many factors.
