The event focused on key issues related to predicting and minimizing health and economic risks in dairy farming. Participants were presented with the latest information on the Common Agricultural Policy in the EU and the Czech Republic by Bohumil Belada. Another important topic was the profitability of milk production and the economic consequences of diseases in dairy cattle, which were discussed in detail by Jan Syrůček, Ph.D., from the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry. Václav Straka then presented automatic monitoring of dairy cow limb diseases, including the preclinical phase. Ing. Vojtěch Zink, Ph.D., showed how to predict the development and minimize the risks of disease in dairy cattle herds. Finally, Ing. Magdaléna Štolcová, Ph.D., from VÚŽV explained how data from milk analysis helps improve the health of dairy cows.
