Abstract

The yearbook provides a comprehensive overview of the main results and indicators in cattle breeding in 2021 and points out the main trends in this important sector in the last few years. In 2021, it continued to influence most sectors of the national economy, incl. the agrarian impact of the global coronavirus pandemic. In the Czech agricultural sector, according to the Czech Statistical Office report, the estimated economic result for the year 2021 was 21,985.5 million CZK, i.e. it increased by 15.6% year-on-year, and in the time series 2004 to 2021 it is the third highest value of income. In this difficult year, there was no major change in cattle breeding in the numbers of the main categories of cattle, milk production increased year-on-year, and slaughter cattle production almost did not change. Purchase prices for milk increased year-on-year, and agricultural producer prices for the main categories of slaughter cattle were also slightly higher compared to 2020. Even in 2021, milk and live cattle were an important item of agrarian exports.
