Abstract

This yearbook presents statistical data for the sheep and goat sector for 2019. The presented statistical data show that in most indicators there were no significant changes between 2018 and 2019, as in previous years. As of 1 April 2020, according to the data of the Czech Statistical Office, approximately 204 thousand sheep and 29 thousand goats. According to the semi-definitive results of the economic accounts for agriculture for 2019 published by the Czech Statistical Office at current prices, sheep and goat farming in the Czech Republic amounted to 225 million CZK, which accounted for 0.4% of livestock production and 0.2% of total production of the agricultural sector in the Czech Republic. It was in the slaughterhouse and outside it in the Czech Republic according to the data of the Czech Statistical Office were slaughtered a total of 163.8 thousand sheep and 34.2 thousand goats, which together accounted for about 7% of the slaughter of all livestock in the Czech Republic this year.
